Job Description:

This position is primarily within the Intensive Care Unit and periodically will float to ED, Med/Surg, or Peds in case of low census. Provides nursing care to critically ill patients. The Registered Nurse performs a variety of responsible nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments and the ability to work independently in completing assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inpatient care and support in the 5 Bed I.C.U. to individuals of all ages and their families.
  • Perform after-hours recovery of post-op general surgery, pediatric, and OB patients as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 3 years of prior ICU experience.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Must have and maintain a current valid unrestricted Professional Nursing License (RN) to practice nursing in any state of the United States of America, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Maintain current valid certification of Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Maintain current valid certification of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association must be completed within six months of hire.
  • Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) must be completed within six months of hire.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) NIHSS must be completed within six months of hire.
