Key Job Details – ER RN Travel Assignment

• Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York nursing jobs)
• Facility: Level 3 Trauma Center, Emergency Department (29-bed ED, 4-bed Behavioral Health, 7-bed Fast Track)
• Assignment Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 4/5/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour evening shifts (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's Day/Eve)
• Orientation: 24 hours for 13-week contracts
• EMR System: EPIC
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2200 - $2360

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse license or proof of application
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room RN experience
• Recent experience with EPIC EMR (within past 2 years)
• Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS (or ENPC), TNCC (active or proof of class prior to start), NIH Stroke Scale (required before starting)
• Ability to manage nurse-patient ratios of 1:5+ in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle (no public transportation)
• Charge nurse and prior travel nursing experience preferred

ER RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Initiate and manage IVs, administer medications, and perform EKGs
• Oversee drips, respiratory treatments, and collaborate with pharmacy and respiratory teams
• Care for a diverse patient population including psychiatric, boarded, and COVID patients
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, CNAs, crisis clinicians, and ancillary staff
• Follow strict unit protocols, including zero tolerance for cell phone/earbud use while working
• Maintain compliance with dress code (navy blue/white scrubs, closed-toe shoes, no artificial nails)
