This travel nursing position seeks an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Nampa, Idaho, providing care throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and triage. The role requires certifications such as ACLS, BLS, NRP, and experience with high-risk obstetrics, newborn care, and medication management. The nurse will float across multiple facilities within the St. Luke’s Treasure Valley system, working 12-hour night shifts with opportunities for weekend coverage.

Shift Notes
7p-7a weekends as needed, Float to all St. Lukes Treasure Valley Sites-Meridian, Nampa, Boise in primary skill set (L&D/Mother Baby) or as a sitter.
Required Experience & Skills- L&D Experience:
- Must have 3 years L&D experience
- Mother/Baby Experience:
- Preferred 1 year
- Must be able to independently:
- Attend deliveries
- Perform 1 hour of newborn care
- Triage OB patients
- Circulate C-sections
- Provide postpartum couplet care
- Manage magnesium therapy
- Charge Nurse experience: Preferred
- First-time travelers: Accepted

Radius Rule: 50 miles
- LDRP Beds: 14 (patients remain in the same room for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum)
- OR Suites (C-Sections): 2 on unit
- RNs circulate and recover
- Triage Beds: 4 (travelers will staff triage)
- Birth Volume:
- ~90 births/month
- ~1,200 births/year
- Model: Unique LDRP model with NICU embedded in 7 rooms
- AWHONN Staffing Standards followed
- Labor: 1:1 (may pair 2 cervical ripening patients)
- Postpartum: 1:3 couplets
- Triage: 1:3 (resource nurse utilized if 4 patients)
- Charge Nurse:
- Admin Supervisor on every shift
- Charge RNs do not take patient assignments
- Additional Support:
- Resource RN (assists with breaks, attends all deliveries as “baby catcher,” second med sign-off)
- Dedicated triage RN
- 32 weeks gestation and greater
- Hypertensive disorders (including magnesium therapy)
- TOLACs
- Gestational diabetes
- Antepartum patients
- High number of transfers from home births seeking medical intervention and pain control
- Exclusions: No placenta previa or placenta accreta
- Serves a very diverse community

- Common drips include:
- Pitocin (protocol driven)
- Magnesium sulfate
- Insulin drips (occasional)
- OB Hospitalist: In-house 24/7
- Neonatal NP: In-house 24/7
- Anesthesia: In-house 24/7
- Respiratory Therapy: Available for troubleshooting
- CST: 1 per shift
- CNA: 1 scheduled per shift (may convert to HUC if needed)
- EFM System: Centricity
- Tele/Monitor Techs: None
- RNs read their own strips
- Tele capability exists but rarely used (patients typically transferred if higher level care needed)
- Charting: EPIC (Curio)
- Shifts: 7a–7p / 7p–7a
- Charge & Resource: 0645–1845 / 1845–0645
- Scheduling:
- Travelers fill schedule gaps first
- Preferences considered after initial schedule
- Block scheduling not guaranteed
- Cannot work 6 consecutive shifts
- Weekends: No minimum requirement (based on needs)
- Holidays: No set requirement for travelers (may work if needed)
- Call: None
- Float to St. Luke’s Treasure Valley sites:
- Meridian
- Nampa
- Boise
- Floating within primary skill set (L&D, Postpartum, Antepartum) or as a sitter
- 4 unit-specific orientation shifts
- Includes C-section, labor, and postpartum training
- Compliance and EPIC Curio assignments must be completed prior to start
- Hospital-issued scrubs required
- Must change in and out at start/end of shift
- Strict nail policy:
- No fingernail polish, acrylics, or gel nails
- Travel duos:
- Must have two vehicles (floating between sites possible)
- Scrub colors may vary by site
- This is the only LDRP site
