CVICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Dayton, Ohio (45409) – Ohio nursing jobs
• Unit: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 (OT paid after 48 hours for 48-hour contracts)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680-$1800
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• End Date: March 9, 2026
• Floating: May float to nearby campuses (Centerville, Englewood)
• Scrubs: Navy Blue

CVICU RN Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU Registered Nurse experience required
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred
• Active RN license (any state); must obtain Ohio RN license before start
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Online EKG tele competency assessment required prior to start
• EPIC charting experience required
• Proficient in A-Lines, ventilators, cardiac drips, sheaths, dialysis, and drawing ABGs
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Available to work every other weekend and holiday
• First-time travel nurses welcome!

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions (STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, heart failure, sepsis, respiratory failure, valve stenosis/insufficiency, AFIB, cardiac arrest, cardiogenic shock)
• Manage advanced cardiac equipment: chest tubes, temporary pacers, CRRT, ECMO, Impella, EKOS
• Interpret and manage arterial blood gases, cardiac drips, and vasoactive medications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
• Float to other units as needed, supporting nursing teams across Dayton campuses
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
• Participate in orientation and complete required modules
