Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg RN with recent specialty experience, a NM or compact RN license, and night shift availability.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based Med-Surg unit
- Assigned to 3F department with required floating between departments or sites within a 20-mile radius
- Shifts are 12 hour nights (1900-0730), three shifts per week
- Epic EMR is used, on-site training is available
- Provides comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
- Coordinates patient care with involvement of the patient, family, and healthcare team
- Will supervise LPNs and non-licensed support staff as needed
- Must be flexible and willing to float as assigned
- Completion and passing of all required orientation modules is needed
- Returning staff must have been separated for at least one year to be eligible
- Dress code consists of specified scrub attire
- Epic charting system is used with training provided on-site
Requirements
- Active New Mexico or Compact State RN license is required
- Current BLS certification from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Two years of recent Med-Surg RN experience required
- At least one prior 13-week travel assignment is required
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
- Must be a team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
