Opportunity:
RN - PCU Float Pool
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Float to all PCU/Tele units within the hospital as needed
• May work on different units each shift including PCU, Overflow, Medical, and Surgical floors
• Patient ratios: PCU 1:4 (may go to 5), Medical and Surgical 1:5 (may go to 1:6 rarely)
• Required to titrate drips including cardizem, amio, and heparin
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips and pass ECG exam
• Work with equipment including CPAP and high flow oxygen
• Care for patients with diagnoses including stroke, chest pain, arrhythmias, post-surgical, sepsis, and respiratory failure
• Weekend requirement: minimum of 4 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
• Holiday expectations: 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• Navy scrubs required
• 3 shifts of orientation on 3 different units plus general facility orientation
• Required certifications: BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• 1-2 years of experience required with proficiency in neuro assessments and basic cardiac drips
• EPIC experience required
• Prior travel experience required

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive Progressive Care Unit and Medical-Surgical services with a total of 104 beds including a 52-bed Neuro PCU and 52-bed Medical Surgical unit. The facility utilizes EPIC electronic health records and provides advanced cardiac and neurological care with capabilities for continuous monitoring and drip titration. The organization maintains high standards of patient care with specialized equipment and dedicated support staff including patient care technicians and unit secretaries.
