This exciting position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact while collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team: Comprehensive Trauma Care: Manage a diverse caseload of trauma patients across the emergency department, stepdown units, and medsurg floors (average 10-15 patients daily). Collaborative Team Environment: Work alongside a robust team, including attending surgeons, residents, and trauma nurse leaders, ensuring comprehensive patient support 24/7. Daily staffing includes: Daytime: 1 attending surgeon for floor rounding and ED call, 1 attending surgeon in the ICU, 2-3 APPs for floor rounding and ED call, and 2-3 residents. Nighttime: 1 attending surgeon for ICU, floor, and ED, 1 APP for floor and ED, 2-3 residents for ICU and ED. Trauma nurse leads support all areas 24 hours a day. Procedural Expertise: Utilize your skills to perform essential procedures, including chest tubes (both open and pigtail), central lines, arterial lines, and laceration repairs. Streamlined Workflow: Utilize the Cerner Powerchart electronic medical record system to maintain accurate and efficient patient documentation. Active License Required: Must hold a valid North Carolina license to practice. Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Certification Required.
