Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist Opportunity - Near Sacramento, CA
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position near Sacramento, CA. This role involves providing both clinic-based consultative care and performing GI procedures. The ideal candidate will be available to work for at least six months to a year. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a dynamic clinical environment and assist with the backlog of diagnostic and screening procedures.
Position Details:

- Weekdays: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Monday through Friday
- Assignment Duration: ASAP - Ongoing (6 months to a year)
Primary Duties:
- Setting: Clinic and outpatient
- Procedures: Colonoscopy and endoscopy, 2-3 days per week
- Patient Load:
- 16-20 patients per day in the clinic
- 8-10 procedures per day in the outpatient center
- Consultative and Follow-Up Care: Provide care in the ambulatory clinic setting
- Support Staff: Assigned medical assistant and procedure scheduler
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinic Setting: The provider will work 5 days a week in an outpatient clinic setting.
- GI Procedures: Perform routine GI procedures such as colonoscopies and endoscopies.
- Call: Minimal call responsibilities, primary focus is clinic and procedures.
Requirements:
- Board Certification/Eligibility: Gastroenterology
- State License: Active California license required
- Gastroenterology Fellowship: Strongly preferred
- Malpractice: Clean malpractice history strongly preferred
EMR System:
- Cerner: Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
Credentialing:
- Emergency/Temporary Privileges: Not available
- Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing
