We have an exciting opportunity for a Board Certified General Surgeon to join our team, providing coverage during the holiday season. This assignment is located near Littleton, NC, offering a unique and rewarding experience. The locum tenens assignment is scheduled from ASAP to Ongoing. In this role, the surgeon will be involved in inpatient care, handling call duties during nights and weekends. One of the advantages of this position is the flexibility, as the surgeon is not required to remain on-site while on call. On average, the provider can expect to see 7-8 patients per day, with 1-2 admissions per day and night. The surgical cases per month are approximately 50, and the procedures required include appendectomy, strangulated hernias, cholecystectomy, I&Ds, and various emergency procedures. The facility is a 114-bed hospital with a low-volume Emergency Department consisting of 15 beds. There is a 10-bed ICU, and the hospital serves around 21,000 patients per year. The Emergency Department operates on a 24-hour rotational shift schedule, with Support available for immediate patient transfers. The electronic medical record (EMR) system utilized is EPIC (HealthSpan), streamlining documentation and ensuring efficient patient care.
