Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) telemetry position requiring a TN or compact RN license and willingness to float to a 1:7 Med Surg ratio if needed.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient population includes higher acuity patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Required to float to other units such as Med Surg with a 1:7 patient ratio if census demands
• Day shift schedule is 3x12 hours, 6:30 to 19:00, with rotating weekends
• No on-call responsibilities
• Expected to actively participate in clinical education and support of nursing students in addition to providing patient care
• General orientation begins on Sundays and includes 16 hours of non-billable orientation and online CBL modules
• Orientation modules take approximately 4-5 hours and are documented via electronic transcripts
• No local candidates accepted within a 100-mile radius
• Candidates must not have conflicting engagements in the 12-14 days prior to start due to drug testing requirements

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
• Minimum two years of RN experience required
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) required
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Must live more than 100 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Must complete pre-employment drug testing within 12-14 days before start date and be available for potential retesting
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to comply with fit testing requirements for CDC guidelines
