This role is for a travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse specializing in stroke and neuro care, working 12-hour night shifts at a 34-bed medical trauma unit in Richmond, Virginia. The position requires at least two years of Med Surg experience, BLS certification, and acute care experience within the past year, with preferred skills in trauma and telemetry. The nurse will manage complex wounds, blood product administration, pain management, and various tubes and drains while working collaboratively in a team-based healthcare setting.

· Level of Care: Medical Surgical, Telemetry
· Number of Beds - 34 beds (private), 2 semi- private.
· Number of Staff – 50
· Type of staff:
o Day Shift – 1 charge, 7 RN / LPNs, 3 Techs, 1 DA
o Night Shift - 1 charge, 6 RN / LPN 3 techs
· Patient Ratios – 5-6:1
· Type of equipment – remote telemetry, vein finder, bladder scanner, EKG machine, Doppler, Hoyer Lift, glucometer, pulse ox, scales, wound vac
· EMR - Meditech
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
- 2 years Medical Surgical Experience
- BLS
- Past year in acute care
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
· Trauma experience
· Telemetry experience
Specialized aspects of care on unit / management of:
· Complex wounds
· Administration of blood products
· Pain management
· Tubes & drains – NG, PEG, feeding tubes, surgical drains
· Chest tubs

Weekends and On call(if any)
