RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week
• Schedule includes 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Float policy: Contract labor is first to float; rotation system when multiple contract staff are scheduled
• Required uniform: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
• Work with equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Required certifications: Active RN license and BLS certification
• Required skills: Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
• Participate in bedside shift reports and include patients/family members in care planning
• Tech support available on day and night shifts
• Unit secretary coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
