Local Pay Rate: $65/Hr - $68/Hr on w2
Travel Pay Rate: $3006 weekly ($44/Hr W2 + $1246 weekly stipend)
Job Description:
- Setting: Primary outpatient, inpatient acute/swing-bed rehab coverage on a less frequent basis
- Patient Population & Case Types: -Outpatient: General orthopedics and practice PT (highest case mix includes shoulder, back, hip, and knee diagnoses), falls/balance referrals, neurological diagnoses
- Inpatient: Critical-access hospital with a small swing-bed rehab unit (approximately 15 patients), diagnoses include orthopedic injuries, post-surgical recovery, and general illness rehabilitation post-acute stay
- Case Volume: -Total of 15 sessions/day (30 minutes each) -Evaluations - 1 hour each (limited to 4-5 per day) -Follow-ups - 30 minutes each -No double/over-booking in usual practice
Responsibilities:
- Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms and review their medical history and referrals from doctors or surgeons
- Diagnose movement dysfunction by listening to patients and observing them as they move about
- Develop an individualized treatment plan
- Coach patients and teach them therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve their condition
- Use hands-on therapy such as massage to ease patients’ pain and provide stimulation to promote healing
- Maintain patient records by keeping track of goals and progress while adapting treatment plans accordingly
- Advise patients and their families on in-home treatment options and what to expect from the recovery process
Requirements:
- 2 years of Physical Therapist experience
- BLSCertification
- NY StatePT License
