Job Title: Attorney (Public Interest / Non-Profit)
Location: Bronx, NY (Remote with occasional court appearances)
Schedule: Full-time, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

We are a mission-driven non-profit organization committed to advocating for vulnerable communities in the Bronx. Our legal team works to ensure access to justice and equitable treatment for all clients, particularly in housing, civil rights, and community law matters.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive attorney to join our public interest legal team. The ideal candidate is passionate about social justice, experienced in litigation, and eager to support individuals and communities through meaningful legal work. Experience in tenant-landlord law is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in civil matters, including but not limited to housing, consumer rights, and public benefits.
Draft legal documents, motions, and pleadings.
Conduct legal research and provide sound legal advice to clients and staff.
Manage caseloads effectively, including client intake, case preparation, and court appearances.
Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to advance organizational goals.
Participate in community outreach and education initiatives.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to practice in New York State.
1–10 years of experience in litigation, public interest law, or civil legal practice.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to social justice and serving underrepresented populations.
Experience in tenant-landlord law is a plus but not required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
