Shift: Nights | 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Rotating weeknights, weekends & holidays
Patient Ratios: 1:4 (may be 1:3–4)
Float: Yes – within OSU to equivalent or lower acuity units
Locals Accepted: Yes (same rate)
❗ NIHSS certification AND real Neuro PCU/Stepdown experience
❗ EVD monitoring experience REQUIRED
❗ Lumbar drain experience REQUIRED
⚠️ Candidates without hands-on Neuro PCU experience, NIHSS, or EVDs will NOT be accepted

2 years PCU or Neuro Stepdown experience
Strong Neuro background required
BLS, ACLS & NIHSS – REQUIRED (NIHSS = HARD STOP)
Epic charting experience required
Previous travel experience preferred
Compact or Ohio RN license in hand at submission
EVD monitoring & neuro assessments
NIHSS stroke scoring
CVA & intracranial bleed management
Seizure management
Cardiac telemetry
IV insulin & heparin protocols
PCA & non-titrated cardiac drips
Tracheostomy care
HFNC & CPAP/BiPAP
Adults & Geriatrics
29-bed unit with strong interdisciplinary support
IV team, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Rapid Response, Social Work, Transport, Unit Secretary
24 hours orientation
Self-scheduling model
Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period
⚠️ Ohio fingerprinting is mandatory and time-sensitive
Must complete immediately after contract signing
Strict compliance deadline: Tuesday prior to start date
RTO must be submitted upfront and built into contract
2 professional references required
1 must be manager/director (Charge RN acceptable as 2nd)
Former OSU employees eligible after 6 months
Current OSU employees not eligible for travel roles
