Pain Management Physician Assistant Requirements
- Current Physician Assistant license in Arizona (or willing to acquire if expired)
- Bachelor's Degree, related field such as biology, chemistry or health sciences
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Pain management specific certifications preferred
- Current DEA registration and continuing medical education (CME)
- 2+ years prior experience in pain management, orthopedics or neurosurgery
- BLS, ACLS, PALS preferred
- CME to maintain license
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Pain Management Physician Assistant Qualifications
- Ability to diagnose and treat new and established patients independently under the supervision of a physician
- Average 28-32 patients per day
- Practice in accordance with the state’s laws, rules and regulations.
- Experienced in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Keeps and maintains appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostics, and treatment protocols
- Team player with a patient-centered approach
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
