Pain Management Physician Assistant Requirements

  • Current Physician Assistant license in Arizona (or willing to acquire if expired)
  • Bachelor's Degree, related field such as biology, chemistry or health sciences
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Pain management specific certifications preferred
  • Current DEA registration and continuing medical education (CME)
  • 2+ years prior experience in pain management, orthopedics or neurosurgery
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS preferred
  • CME to maintain license
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Pain Management Physician Assistant Qualifications

  • Ability to diagnose and treat new and established patients independently under the supervision of a physician
  • Average 28-32 patients per day
  • Practice in accordance with the state’s laws, rules and regulations.
  • Experienced in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Keeps and maintains appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostics, and treatment protocols
  • Team player with a patient-centered approach
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
