Our esteemed healthcare network is seeking a skilled and committed provider to deliver exceptional outpatient Rheumatology care within a hospital outpatient department. Position Overview:
We are hiring a locum Rheumatology physician to cover 4 to 5 days per week, ideally 32-36 hours, with shift hours typically from 7 am to 5 pm. Flexibility within this time frame is appreciated. The role entails outpatient care, including intravenous therapies related to Rheumatology, with the possibility of extending coverage for 1-2 weeks per month. Long-term locum coverage is preferred until a permanent physician is recruited. The provider will undergo hospital credentialing, as this position operates within a hospital outpatient setting. Local or driving candidates are encouraged to apply, supporting seamless integration into the team. The role offers guaranteed hours, with overtime applicable after nine hours per day, pre-approval not usually required, and comprehensive benefits.
Required Skills:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology (within 5 years of residency)
- Valid BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of Rheumatology outpatient procedures and intravenous therapies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a hospital outpatient environment
- Credentialing readiness or ability to obtain hospital privileges
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior outpatient Rheumatology experience
- Familiarity with hospital credentialing processes
- Ability to assist with longer-term contingent coverage arrangements
- Flexibility with schedule adjustments within the outlined hours
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Successfully completed Rheumatology fellowship
- Minimum of 1-3 years of outpatient Rheumatology practice preferred but not required
Other Requirements:
- Must pass hospital credentialing process
- Availability to commit to at least 1-2 weeks per month
- Willingness to assist with intravenous treatments related to Rheumatology
- Own transportation or local residence strongly preferred
