We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery for a locum tenens opportunity near Emory, TX. This role offers an excellent chance to provide quality care in a supportive and professional environment.
Position Highlights- Specialty: Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Ongoing, with flexible scheduling
- Shift Details:
- 12-hour shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM, 7 days per week
- Focus on inpatient care only
- No outpatient responsibilities
- Responsibilities:
- Rounding in the ICU
- Managing patients pre- and post-cardiac surgery
- Care for patients coming off ventilators
- Post-operative management of open-heart, VATS, and lung cases
- Patient Load: Average of 2025 patients on the service at any time
Facility Details- Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center
- EMR System: Epic
- Stroke Certification: Yes
- Support Provided: Collaborative team environment
Requirements- Licensure: Active Texas license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Experience: Board certification required; fellowship training preferred
Additional Information- Credentialing timeframe: 57 days
