Duration: September March (option to extend, temp to perm ideally)
Schedule: 7on/7off ideally, may consider 1 week per month or 14on/14 off
Shift: 7a-7a
Call: yes taken from hotel
Scope of practice: Pediatric Hospitalist - rounding on the pediatric patients, rounding on the newborn nursery (do have NAS Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome babies), called in when OBGYNs request (not required to attend every delivery), no NICU babies those are transferred out. ER calls, new admissions, discharges.
Preferred procedures (not required): circumcision, intubations, lines
Age range: 0-18, deliver at 34 weeks or greater
Volume: 3-4 babies in nursery, 1-2 pediatric patients to round on, average 60 deliveries per month
EMR: Epic
Hospital: level II nursery with 5 beds
Group/support: ANES, Respiratory Therapy, OBGYN, 4 other pediatrician, 3 APPs
Requirements (boards, license): Board certified or board eligible with active North Carolina license
