A board-certified Physiatry/Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician conducts medical disability exams primarily focused on neurological and musculoskeletal conditions for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The role involves interview-based evaluations, physical assessments like range of motion and muscle strength testing, and diagnosing conditions related to traumatic brain injury, cardiovascular, respiratory, and diabetes without prescribing treatment. The position is PRN with no call or weekend duties, involves administrative follow-up, and offers competitive hourly pay including malpractice coverage.
Location: A historic city located in the southeastern part of Oklahoma. Known for its rich coal mining history, it offers a blend of small-town charm and modern amenities. About 140 miles to Oklahoma City! This opportunity is available in other parts of the state as well.

- Need is on a PRN basis, ongoing
- No call or weekends!
- Must be Board Certified in any of the following specialties: Neurology, Neurosurgery, PM&R
- Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment: range of motion testing, muscle strength testing, evaluating traumatic brain injury. Exams will be a mix of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury.
- No prescribing, no treatment
- DMA certification available (can get CME credits) - will need to obtain once privileged if not already certified
- Use of Goniometer required
- Familiar with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio required
- Proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Must own personal laptop (NO Apple Laptops/MACs)
- Training shall be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
- Evaluations to be completed in the provider's portal and records are reviewed.
- Follow up administrative work will be required on a regular basis.
