Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with ortho background, an active OH or compact RN license, and strong proficiency across surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Work in an 11-bed hospital operating room
• Adult patient population aged 18 and older
• 10-hour morning/evening shifts
• Call required: 2-3 overnight weekday and 2-3 weekend shifts per 6-week period, plus one overnight holiday call shift as assigned
• Experience with DaVinci robotics and electrocautery devices preferred
• Must be proficient in working with lines, drains, and various specialty surgical equipment
• Optime charting system experience required
• Responsible for pre-op, intra-op, and post-op patient care including assessments and discharge instructions
• Required to anticipate scrub nurse needs, operate equipment, and maintain accurate records
• Assignment includes responsibility for keeping the OR a safe environment and coordinating with the surgical team
• May reprocess scopes/equipment if assigned to the Endoscopy team
• Must pass EKG testing on first day, with up to two attempts permitted and study guides provided
• Holiday call coverage may be assigned based on department needs

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year recent OR RN experience; more than 1 year preferred
• Strong orthopedic surgery background required, proficiency in multiple specialties necessary
• Must be familiar with operating electrocautery devices and supporting equipment unique to each surgical case
• Experience with DaVinci robotic procedures is a plus
• Optime EMR/charting experience required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
