This locum tenens position for an Electrophysiology Cardiologist in Bloomington, IL offers a part-time flexible schedule with approximately 15 shifts per month, involving clinic, ambulatory procedures, and inpatient call coverage. The physician will perform a variety of diagnostic and interventional EP procedures, including device implantations and ablations, while collaborating with hospitalist, ICU, and multidisciplinary cardiac surgery teams. The role requires board certification or eligibility, relevant licensure, and experience, with the facility utilizing the Epic EMR system and offering expedited privileging.

- Flexible Schedule: This is a part-time position, with an estimated 15 shifts per month. The role includes a mix of clinic, ambulatory procedures, and inpatient call coverage. You will be on call with a 30-minute response time.
- Diverse Responsibilities: You will perform a wide range of diagnostic and interventional EP procedures, including the implantation of pacemakers, cardioverter/defibrillators, and Watchman devices. You will also perform cardiac ablations, loop recorder procedures, and provide inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology services.
- Collaborative Team: You will not work solo. You will consult on patients admitted under hospitalist and ICU services and participate in multidisciplinary care for cardiac surgery and structural heart patients.
- EMR System: The facility uses Epic for all charting.
- Quick Privileging: The estimated time to secure full or temporary privileges is 60 days.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology services.
- Perform a wide range of procedures, including cardiac rhythm conversion, ablation procedures, and the implantation of various cardiac devices.
- Consult with hospitalist and ICU services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care for cardiac surgery and structural heart patients.
- Education: MD or DO.
- Board Status: Board-Certified or Board-Eligible.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Licensure: An active Illinois State License is required.
- Certifications: ACLS, DEA, and CSR licenses are required
- The estimated start date is October 15, 2025.
