An independent, non-profit acute care community hospital on the Southern Coast of New Jersey is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner with surgical office experience to join our growing, collaborative provider team. As a key member of our Surgical Team, you will support both general and vascular surgery patients in the clinic and hospital settings, with the opportunity to expand your skills as a First Assist in the OR.
Position Overview
In this role, you will:
- Support general and vascular surgical specialties within the same clinical location
- Conduct patient evaluations in the outpatient setting
- Coordinate care with physicians, imaging centers, and specialty providers
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies
- Manage prescription refills and prior authorizations
- Triage patient calls and electronic messages
- Provide wound care, including dressing changes and debridements
- Collaborate closely with Anesthesia, ED, Hospitalists, and surgical teams
- Review pre-op clearances and intervene as needed for abnormal results
- Finalize discharge documentation and coordinate follow-up care
- Educate patients on post-discharge care and recovery expectations
- Perform in-hospital surgery consultations and patient rounds
- Assist with and perform procedures as appropriate

Requirements:
- 2 Years of experience working in a Surgical role as a Nurse Practitioner
- Nurse Practitioner certification
- Have or ability to obtain a valid NJ State Board APN license, CDS and DEA
