Job Details:
• Dual responsibilities including CT and Diagnostic Radiology
• Position and adjust patients using immobilization and support devices to ensure optimal image quality
• Determine appropriate radiographic techniques based on anatomy and patient condition
• Secure patient history regarding prescribed tests and record information for radiologist review
• Demonstrate competent understanding of patient positioning and image critique
• Perform problem solving related to physical limitations during patient positioning
• Follow appropriate scanning protocols per radiologist requirements
• Perform image reviews to determine if additional views are necessary
• Select and adjust technical factors governing the imaging process
• Identify artifacts on films and assist in problem solving
• Communicate normal and abnormal anatomy findings to radiologists
• Evaluate CT orders for appropriateness using ACR Appropriateness Criteria
• Operate equipment competently in CT and Digital x-ray modalities
• Modify technical factors as situations warrant
• Perform daily equipment start-up and shut-down procedures
• Ensure images are properly labeled and marked
• Inspect equipment daily during use and report malfunctions
• Complete annual competencies
• Maintain compliance with all radiation safety procedures
• Document patient care according to departmental standards
