American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring strong tele or IMC experience, Oregon RN license, and BLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a short-term acute care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level II Trauma Center designation
- Position is part of the Salem Health Float Pool, supporting all adult inpatient units including MS/Tele, Stepdown, IMC, Emergency Department, ICU, inpatient rehab, and adult care units
- Required to float to sister hospital, West Valley Hospital, as needed
- PCU/MS/Tele/IMC patient population with ratios of 1:4-6
- 12-hour night shifts (19:00-07:30), every other weekend required
- Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience is required
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Provide telemetry and progressive care including management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, and follow isolation protocols
- Must activate and participate in rapid response as needed
- Float pool team members are expected to be highly flexible and support a broad range of adult inpatient units
- Strict RTO policy applies; any time off over 2 weeks requires approval and RTO must be submitted up front
- No first-time travelers accepted
- Candidates must be gone for at least 6 months to return as a traveler
- Free parking is available for staff
- Active Oregon RN license required for consideration
- Current BLS certification through AHA required
- At least 1 year of recent experience (within the last 3 years) in MS/Tele/PCU
- Strong telemetry or IMC experience is required
- Ability to float to various units within the organization and sister hospital
- COVID vaccination required, no exemptions accepted
- Must have experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation and management, cardiac drips (nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone), and rapid response team activation
