  • 28-bed Emergency Department with approximately 35,000 annual admissions.
  • Mixed patient population, primarily adults, focusing on cardiac and neurological cases, including stroke patients.
  • High acuity cases; less emphasis on pediatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology.
  • No trauma center, but comprehensive support for critical care cases.

• Support Staff & Resources:

  • Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), paramedics, respiratory therapists, phlebotomy, stroke team, and sepsis team.
  • Access to specialized teams, including interventional radiology, cardiovascular surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, vascular surgery, and nephrology.
  • The facility is equipped with teleneuro robots for stroke care.
  • Comprehensive Stroke Center designation.

• Shift Details:

  • Weekdays: Shifts are 7 AM to 6 PM, 11 AM to 10 PM, and 8 PM to 7 AM.
  • Weekends: 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM.
  • APP coverage is provided from 9 AM to 9 PM and 1 PM to 1 AM, seven days a week.
  • No call is required for this position.

• Procedures & Cases:

  • The physician will handle core emergency medicine procedures, including moderate sedation.
  • Common cases include cardiac emergencies, neurological cases, orthopedic injuries, and other high-acuity conditions.
  • Physicians will sign out or admit patients for follow-up care as needed.
