The Respiratory Therapist PRN provides comprehensive respiratory care services to patients across all age groups within a university health setting. Responsibilities include delivering care according to physician directives while adhering to departmental policies and maintaining professional standards. The position requires an Associate’s degree or higher, current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential, and valid certifications in respiratory care and basic life support.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides full range of respiratory care services to patients of the University Health. Provides care to any age group from neonatal to geriatric as evidenced by the skill/competency check-offs. Ensures the prompt and proficient provisions of respiratory related duties in accordance with physician directives. Complies with departmental and University Health's policies and procedures and maintains good public and working relations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree, or higher, with a current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care and active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the Texas State Board of Health is required. Graduate Therapist must obtain their RRT within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification is mandatory.
