About the Pain Management Center
The Pain Management Center offers comprehensive, non-narcotic treatments for chronic pain. Staffed by Washington University physicians, the center provides personalized care plans that may include medications, injections, physical therapy, and psychological support. The team specializes in treating conditions such as back pain, arthritis, neuropathy, and cancer-related pain, focusing on improving patients' daily function. With a multidisciplinary approach and access to the latest research, the center ensures timely care, often accommodating appointments within a week. A physician referral is required for scheduling.
Nurses at the Pain Management Center play a crucial role in patient care by assisting with pain assessments, phone triage, administering treatments, and providing education on pain management strategies. The Department of Ambulatory Services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital consists of the multidisciplinary staff of BJH Ambulatory Services including responsibility for the GI Labs, Minor Procedure Center, Pain Management Center, Diabetes Center, Resident Clinics, Wound/Ostomy Center and other services as assigned. This department assures that all customers receive the highest level of attention and prompt, courteous service.
