Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position with a strong telemetry background and current NC or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a short-term acute care, Level III trauma, and teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts, 19:00-07:00
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope and between like units
- Does not accept travel pairs
- Epic EMR system used; prior Epic experience preferred
- Royal blue and white scrubs required
- Responsibilities include providing skilled nursing care to PCU patients in a fast-paced hospital setting
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs
- No on-call requirement
- Return staff must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Contract extensions limited to one renewal; a 6-month break is required after completing two contracts
- Time off requests are subject to manager's discretion
- Holiday coverage as scheduled by the unit
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of PCU/telemetry experience required
- Must pass EKG exam before starting the assignment
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Pending or temporary licenses not accepted
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
