Job Details:
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry/medical-surgical experience required
• Day shift patient ratios: 1:5, Night shift patient ratios: 1:6
• Float required to other units as needed
• Call required
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Must be comfortable working with cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, and Epic charting system
• Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Preferred certification: ACLS
• AHA certifications required
• Must have experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips (no titration), dysrhythmia management and interpretation
• Skills include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, and IV management
• 50-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• Must be over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• Compact or Louisiana license required upon submission
• Emergency team assignment possible during emergency events with expectation to remain at facility
• Orientation held 5 days a week with billable modules
