The Lead Staff Pharmacist manages pharmacy workflow, supervises pharmacy technicians and students, and ensures quality medication therapy for patients across all age groups. They assist pharmacy leadership with business operations and maintain professional competency while providing patient-focused clinical care. The role also includes preparing staff schedules and performing drug distribution, documentation, compounding, and monitoring within a hospital setting.
Lead Staff Pharmacist, FT, Piedmont Columbus Midtown
Assumes essential duties and responsibilities in the absence of pharmacy managers in order to ensure standard of patient care. Serves as part of pharmacy leadership team and assists Director with business aspects of the department. Responsible for management of the pharmacy workflow under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager. Prepares monthly staffing schedule for Pharmacists. Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Provides oversight for students and for all pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy. (Note: Includes Job Code T06135 for "7 On / 7 Off" Schedule).

Qualifications:Education
- Bachelor’s Degree Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s or higher in Pharmacy Required
Work Experience
- 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience Required
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia Required
