Job DescriptionThe CT Technologist is responsible for providing timely diagnostic services to both inpatients and outpatients under the direction of a Radiologist and according to departmental protocols. This includes performing basic radiographic procedures, fluoroscopy, portable radiographic procedures, C-arm procedures, and OR imaging services. The technologist demonstrates proficiency in routine diagnostic CT scanning procedures including CT of the head, neck, thorax, spine, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, and biopsy/drainage procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform basic CT procedures and venipuncture for injections.
- Operate power injector and administer IV contrast as ordered by a physician.
- Perform 3-D reformats on scanner/workstation.
- Provide coverage in the hospital for inpatient, outpatient, and ER studies.
- Maintain knowledge of processing of CT systems and surgical/sterile procedures.
- Ensure proper administration of studies with or without contrast media.
- 1.5+ years of experience required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Sciences.
- ARRT, CT certification required.
- BLS and CPR certification required.
- State license as a general radiographer.
