The Nurse Manager at PACU oversees nursing staff, daily unit operations, and patient care to ensure high-quality, evidence-based services in a post-anesthesia care setting. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, active RN licensure, clinical acute care experience, and leadership skills.

Location: Scott's Hill Medical Center,109 Scotts Hill Medical Drive, Wilmington, NC 28411
Work Status: Exempt/Full-Time
Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (flexibility based on needs of the department)
What We're Looking For:- Education: Bachelor's Degree, Nursing required.
- Experience: Two years clinical RN experience -- acute care setting.
- Licensure/certification/registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. Board certification in area of practice, preferred.
- Preferred Requirements: Epic Lumens software experience. Master's Degree. Two years demonstrated leadership experience, preferred. Three years clinical RN experience in an acute care setting, preferred.
- Additional skills required: Understands and applies: current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; skills in interviewing and selection process; understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll and purchasing processes; implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations; principles of change management.
Lead and supervise nursing staff; set schedules and assignments
Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care for patients
Oversee daily unit operations, staffing levels, and patient flow
Promote patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance
Support staff development through coaching, evaluations, and education
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care delivery
Monitor quality metrics and drive performance improvement initiatives
Manage budgets, supplies, and equipment for the unit
Address patient/family concerns and support compassionate care
Respond to clinical or operational issues and emergencies
