Locum Tenens Opportunity: Pathology Physician Near Fowler, MI We are currently seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Pathology Physician for a locum tenens position near Fowler, MI. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled pathologist looking to work in a hospital-based setting, providing essential diagnostic services while collaborating with a dedicated medical team. This position offers a stable, ongoing assignment with the possibility of extension as the facility seeks to recruit a permanent provider. Position Overview: Profession: Physician Specialty: Pathology Location: Near Fowler, MI Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Shift Type: Days Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Work Details: Practice Setting: Hospital-based Pathology Lab Call Schedule: Weekly, alternating weeks Starts Friday at 5:00 PM and ends the following Friday at 8:00 AM Nights/weekend rotation is required Volume: Approximately 35-50 cases read per day, with the workload split between two pathologists Certification: CLIA certification held by the laboratory Case Types: Broad spectrum of pathology cases, requiring a well-rounded pathologist with experience in both common and complex diagnostic work Requirements: Board Certification: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pathology State License: Must hold an active Michigan medical license or be eligible to obtain one Emergency/Temp Privileges: Not available; standard credentialing process applies Experience: Proven experience in a hospital-based pathology setting is preferred Additional Information: Call Ratio: Every other week, covering nights and weekends Credentialing Timeframe: Standard timeframe applies; however, candidates must be ready to start as soon as September 30th Onboarding: Comprehensive orientation will be provided, along with support from the medical team to ensure a smooth transition into the role This locum tenens position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital environment while enjoying the flexibility and variety that locum work provides.
