Gastroenterologist Locum Tenens Opportunity Near Salt Lake City, UT

We are currently seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position near Salt Lake City, UT. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified physician to provide critical coverage in a dynamic healthcare setting. The position offers flexible scheduling and the ability to work with a strong support team. This assignment is expected to begin ASAP and will be ongoing, offering stability and continuous professional engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shift Type: 24-hour call coverage from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., as well as clinic and procedure coverage Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Shift Requirements: A minimum of 7 shifts per month, beginning November 1st, 2024.
• Weekend and On Call: Weekend shifts are required, with 24-hour call responsibilities.
• Trauma Level: Level III trauma facility.
• Duties Include: Upper endoscopies (EGD), inpatient and outpatient care, and general gastroenterology procedures.
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): The system used is EPIC, with training required prior to starting. Both virtual and onsite EMR training will be provided, but completion of online modules before your start date is mandatory.

• Registered Nurses (RN)
• Echo Technicians
• Lab Technicians
• Nuclear Technicians
• X-ray Technicians

Qualifications:

• Board Certification in Gastroenterology This is a requirement for the role.
• Active Utah Medical License Highly preferred, though physicians without it may still apply.
• Active BLS Certification Required for credentialing and patient care.
• Gastroenterology Fellowship Required for this position.
• Active DEA License Required for credentialing, and the license must be maintained throughout the assignment.
• EMR Experience (EPIC) Physicians must complete required modules prior to their first day, followed by virtual and onsite training.

Additional Requirements:

• Clean Malpractice History Preferred, and physicians with a clean background will be given higher priority.
• Clean Background Required for consideration.
• Self-Inquiry NPDB Report Must be submitted with your application.
• Availability: Candidates must be able to start in November 2024 and provide at least 7 shifts per month. The earliest start date and number of available shifts must be disclosed upon application.

State License Requirements:

• Utah
