The Welder position involves reading blueprints, setting up equipment, and performing GMAW MIG welding to fabricate and assemble metal components. Candidates should have at least one year of welding/fabrication certification or relevant experience and be able to work in various physical positions while adhering to safety protocols. Hours: 4:30am-3:00pm; 3:00pm-1:30am
QPS Employment Group has a great Welder position at a company in Monroe, WI. This is a 1st and 2nd shift position with the opportunity for hire.
Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reads and comprehends blueprints.
- Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding from blueprints.
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
- Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds part to secure in position for welding.
- Sets up equipment and welds parts, GMAW MIG.
- Fabricate and design non-engineered parts.
Welder Requirements:
- One year certificate from college or technical school in welding/fabrication or relevant experience.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
- Ability to work arms above the head and ability to work from crawling or lying positions.
- Ability to read, understand, and carry out instructions as detailed in blueprints.
- Ability to understand and operate all safety equipment in the area.
- Proficient in adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Proficient in the computation of rate, ratio, and percent and its application in practical situations.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
