The Non Ferrous Yard Manager oversees daily operations of a scrap yard, ensuring efficient material flow, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety standards. They manage a team of 20-50 employees, coordinate logistics, maintain inventory, and build vendor/customer relationships. The role requires leadership experience in the scrap metal or recycling industry, knowledge of OSHA regulations, and the ability to implement process improvements.

Key Responsibilities for Scrap Yard Manager:
- Oversee daily scrapyard operations, ensuring smooth material flow and resource allocation.
- Supervise and train a team of 20–50 employees, maintaining high performance and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain scrapyard equipment (shredders, crushers, loaders, forklifts).
- Ensure scrap materials meet quality standards and enforce safety compliance.
- Scrap Yard Manager will coordinate logistics with the Transportation Department for efficient deliveries.
- Manage inventory levels, build vendor/customer relationships, and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Qualifications Needed for Scrap Yard Manager:
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in recycling or scrap metal industry.
- Strong leadership, equipment operation, and team management skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour, Forklift Operator, Heavy Equipment Operation preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable standing and moving for extended periods.
