PCU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Hopewell, Virginia 23860
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 4 beds
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1800
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Dress Code: Black scrubs
• Documentation System: Meditech

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Progressive Care, or acute care nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Strong communication and bedside reporting skills
• Ability to float to MedSurg and Telemetry units as needed

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to PCU patients with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Collaborate with a dedicated healthcare team including unit secretaries and techs
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient progress
• Update patient whiteboards and foster personal connections with each patient
• Participate in bedside reporting and ensure accurate documentation in Meditech
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented culture and contribute to a supportive work environment
