A highly respected and well-established leader in the agriculture and fresh produce industry is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This organization is known for its strong market presence, operational excellence, and commitment to quality. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, hands-on accounting professional with the ability to manage full-cycle accounting processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and execute full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Perform inventory accounting and cost analysis, with a strong understanding of agriculture/produce operations preferred
Maintain and reconcile fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements
Support external audits and coordinate with auditors as needed
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and leadership teams
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within agriculture, food production, or manufacturing
Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
Experience with inventory and cost accounting is highly desirable
Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
