RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedics Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratio of 1:5 during day shifts and 1:6 during night shifts
• Float to similar Med Surg Telemetry units (D1, F2) as needed
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds (MDRs) on day shift Monday-Friday from 10:30-11:15 AM
• Provide head-to-toe assessments and orthopedic care knowledge
• Administer IV medications including Lasix drip, heparin drip, IVP metoprolol, diltiazem, and insulin IV or subQ
• Perform wound care including drain management and VACs
• Manage NGT/G tube care and parenteral nutrition
• Handle central line management including PICC/HD catheter/midlines
• Provide foley/nephrostomy/suprapubic catheter care and ostomy care
• Deliver postoperative patient care
• Perform nasogastric tube procedures
• Use equipment including Hoyer lifts, automated BP machines, bladder scanner, remote telemetry monitoring, and vein finder
• Document using Altera/Allscripts Sunrise system
• Required certifications: RN License, ACLS, BLS
• Dress code: scrubs and closed-toe shoes (no crocs)

This healthcare organization operates a 48-bed Med Surg Telemetry unit with an average census of 27 patients.
