This locum tenens position seeks a General Medicine Physician in Vermont to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments on a PRN basis. The role involves conducting standardized, interview-based assessments without treatment, with flexible scheduling options and minimal administrative follow-up. Candidates must be board certified or eligible, licensed in Vermont, and proficient in musculoskeletal and cardiovascular evaluations using specific tools like a goniometer.
We are currently seeking experienced General Medicine Physicians for a locum tenens opportunity near Lunenburg, VT. This position is available ASAP and ongoing, providing flexibility with a PRN schedule. This role involves conducting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.

Coverage Options:
- Two options for coverage: travel to perform exams at a leased facility or schedule Veterans within your own practice.
- Flexibility to work either days (4-hours) or full days (8-hours).
Exams and Assessments:
- Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments.
- Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment, including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing or treatment involved.
Administrative and Technical Details:
- Quick credentialing and onboarding process.
- DMA certification is available (CME credits can be earned); certification must be obtained once privileged if not already certified.
- Use of a Goniometer is required.
- Must be familiar with musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular health.
- Proficiency in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions is essential.
- A personal laptop (no Macs) is required.
Reporting Requirements:
- Training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs).
- DBQs must be submitted within 48 hours upon exam completion; no narrative report required. The end product is the completion of standardized forms.
- Evaluations to be completed in the provider portal.
- Record review is required in most cases.
- Regular follow-up administrative work, including addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics.
- Certification Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Medicine.
- State License Requirements: Active Vermont License
