Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg surgical unit assignment requiring at least 2 years of recent hospital experience and a current NH or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position based in a surgical Med/Surg unit with 27 beds
- Typical patient ratio is 5 to 6 patients per RN
- Day shift features a team of Charge RN, RNs, LNAs, and a unit coordinator
- Night shift consists of Charge RN, RNs, and LNAs
- Common procedures include orthopedic surgeries and bariatric procedures
- Specialized equipment used includes Hoyer lifts and CPM devices
- EMR: Code Cart (prior experience preferred)
- Shift is 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Requires four weekend shifts per four-week schedule
- Float to Medical Oncology may be required
- Duties include post-surgical care for orthopedic and bariatric patients
- No color restrictions for scrubs
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Requirements
- Active NH or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted, must not expire within first 30 days)

- No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
