Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center & Systemwide Float Pool

Cone Health is seeking Board-Certified Hospitalists to provide locum coverage at Alamance Regional Medical Center (ARMC) in Burlington, NC, as well as float pool coverage across their North Carolina facilities. This assignment offers a steady block schedule, strong support staff, and a focus on inpatient care with no procedures required.

Position Details

• Start Date: December 1, 2025

• Schedule: 7 on / 7 off (12-hour shifts)

  • Days: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM

  • Nights: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM (pressing need for nocturnist)

  • PRN fill-in shifts are also available

• Coverage: Inpatient only; no call

• Float Pool: Opportunities to cover at multiple Cone Health hospitals across North Carolina

• Patient Census:

  • Average rounding census: patients per day

  • Average admissions per 12-hour shift: 8

• Support Staff: Overlapping admitters and APP coverage at ARMC; Annie Penn nocturnist is solo from 11p 7a at a smaller campus

• Procedures: None required (no central line placements)

• EMR: Epic (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Board Certified / Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

• Active North Carolina medical license (required at time of submission; no IMLC or willing-to-license)

• Active DEA- we can help with this.

• BLS/ACLS certification- we can help with this.

• Hospitalist experience preferred, but not required

• Must meet vaccine compliance requirements

• Additional Coverage: Cone Health hospitals across North Carolina (float pool)

• Trauma Level: Adult II/III/IV coverage depending on site

Travel

• Local candidates preferred; mileage reimbursed if traveling over 50 miles.
