Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical night shift position requiring a MO or compact license and BCLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week from 19:00 to 7:30
- Staffed with a patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Every third weekend and some holidays required per unit rotation
- May float to similar units and Progress West, including surgical and telemetry departments
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
- Initial orientation will occur on weekdays
- Caring for general medical and surgical patient populations
- Preferred experience includes administering chemotherapy and charge nurse experience
- Team structure may require supporting other departments as needed
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, with no time off during orientation
- Free parking provided
- Scrub color is light gray or silver
- Holiday assignments are determined based on unit needs
- Travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a comparable setting
- Current BCLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required for certain units
- No former permanent employees within the health system in the past year
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
- Pending license may be accepted for certain states; inquire if applicable
