Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) provide anesthesia care for a variety of surgical cases including OB, general surgery, orthopedics, and trauma at a Level 3 trauma center in Mason City, IA. The role requires coverage on weekdays and weekends, including holiday call, with responsibilities for patient monitoring, anesthesia administration, and collaboration with physicians for complex cases. Candidates must hold current certifications and licenses, including NBCRNA, BLS, ACLS, and DEA, and be able to respond rapidly on call within the facility vicinity.
Hi there! This is Jason Long from ProTouch Locums. A Facility we are partnered with in Mason City, IA is looking to add 2 CRNA's to cover the dates below + ongoing sporadic coverage.
Open Dates:
March-ongoing. Specific dates TBD
Schedule: (M,W, F: 6:45am - 3:15pm and T, TH: 7:15am - 3:45pm) - CRNAs will be required to stay late when needed a few times a week.
Weekend Call Requirements:
Must be able/comfortable with OB/epidurals, some trauma, simple peds cases, bread and butter stuff to cover call
Must stay in Mason City while on call (10 min response time)
Must be available to cover 3 weekends per month in 2024 - ongoing
Holiday Call Coverage for 2024 - Required
Needing holiday call coverage for 2024 as well!
Need Fri/Sun and Sat/Mon for Christmas and New Year s
Need Thurs/Sat for Thanksgiving holiday
Willing to travel someone in and offer additional weekday coverage IF they can offer substantial weekend call coverage

The really sick peds and truly complicated trauma is almost always shipped out
There is always a physician on 2nd call to back them up if there is overlap in patient volume or if the case is a trauma they don t think they can handle
Types of cases: OB, General surgery, GI, Bariatric, Uro, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiothoracic, some ENT (most of it is done at the local ASC), some peds. This is a Level 3 trauma center, so really complex cases are stabilized then sent to a tertiary center.
