Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN with a CA license and at least 2 years of specialty experience for night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30
- Care for mothers and newborns during antepartum and postpartum periods
- 13-week travel assignment
- Responsible for comprehensive patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in Labor and Delivery
- Direct family education and supervise the activities of other nursing personnel in the Birthplace
- Must respond rapidly and accurately to changes in patient condition
- Ensure a safe environment for patients and visitors
- Local candidates are accepted at the travel rate
- Holiday coverage may be required per hospital policy
- Use of the nursing chain of command is expected when necessary for patient care
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- A minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross required
- AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring certification required
- DCI/BVP certification required, may be completed via approved online resources
