Job DescriptionThe Respiratory Therapist will provide timely, accurate, and reliable respiratory therapy services including the evaluation and treatment of patients. Services are rendered to inpatients, outpatients, UHS staff, and affiliated community groups.
Responsibilities- Administer respiratory therapy procedures as directed by the manager.
- Perform Aerosol Therapy treatments and CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask therapy.
- Manage Oxygen Therapy and BiPAP-CPAP therapy, including alarm management.
- Conduct Pulmonary Function Screen diagnostic procedures.
- Perform arterial puncture and blood gas analysis.
- Record and report results of all procedures accurately.
- Ensure Oxygen Tank Safety and manage mechanical ventilation.
- Support the departmental in-service program.
- Minimum one year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in critical care and NICU.
- Registered by the NBRC as a Respiratory Therapist.
- New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License.
- BLS and ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
