The Orthopedics Nurse Practitioner provides advanced clinical care in a coastal medical center specializing in orthopedic services. Responsibilities include patient assessment, performing diagnostic studies and therapeutic procedures, assisting in surgeries, and managing inpatient and emergency orthopedic care. This role requires board certification, proficiency with electronic health records, and participation in call rotations including nights and weekends.

Job Details:
• Collaborate with attending physicians to prepare and record patient histories, develop care plans, and participate in daily rounds • Utilize electronic medical records for order entry and documentation
• Order or perform diagnostic studies including EMG, electrocardiogram, compartment pressure measurements, and various imaging (CT, MRI, bone scans)
• Perform procedures such as digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor outpatient surgical procedures
• Conduct therapeutic procedures including joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures and dislocations, and various injections
• Apply braces, casts, and splints as needed
• Assist in surgery as first assistant, performing deep and superficial tissue closures and application of appliances
• Serve as primary orthopedic call for patients in the Emergency Department and inpatient units
• Participate in call coverage including weekday, weekend, and 24-hour call rotations
• Evaluate clinical conditions and implement treatment plans for hospitalized patients
• Dictate discharge summaries, histories, and physicals
• Must be proficient with electronic health records
• Ability to work independently in stressful/emergent situations
• Must be Board Certified and maintain active Oregon license
• Requires 4 hours of unpaid EPIC training (2-hour testing out option available)
• Full-time position with call responsibilities including nights and weekends
• Credentialing timeframe minimum of 60 days
