This position is for a Travel Nurse Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery in Hyannis, Massachusetts, working 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts for a 13-week assignment. The nurse is responsible for providing care to mothers during the final stages of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum while monitoring vital signs and managing patient education and psychosocial needs. The role requires a Massachusetts RN license, BLS certification, and at least two years of recent obstetric nursing experience.

The Labor and Delivery nurse assumes responsibility andaccountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery ofpatient care in the L&D Setting. TheLabor and Delivery nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments inan effective and efficient manner with supervision.
The labor and delivery nurse works with Mothers during thefinal stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vitalsigns, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possiblecomplications. The labor and deliverynurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs ofMothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performanceability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountablein managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patientcare.
