Job Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for a manageable census of approximately 5 10 patients per night.
- Conduct admissions from the emergency department and referring physicians, including detailed histories and diagnostic assessments.
- Document clinical encounters in the Paragon EMR system to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Manage acute medical conditions with 24/7 intensivist consultant support for complex cases.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and case managers to coordinate effective patient care plans.
- Coordinate discharge plans, including follow-up appointments and home care needs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and ensure continuity of care.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives aligned with healthcare standards.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide mentorship to residents and advanced practice providers.
- Utilize evidence-based guidelines in all aspects of patient care.
- Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing training for professional growth.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- New York medical license or willingness to obtain.
- Clean malpractice and license history.
- DEA certification.
- 1 year of hospitalist or nocturnist experience preferred.
- New graduates who are Board Eligible within 1 year are accepted.
